People give me compliments and I often act like nothing happened. Not because I'm trying to be a jerk, but because my brain actually sees thanking someone for a compliment as drawing attention to the compliment and thereby drawing attention to myself and drawing attention to myself would be self-centered and WHY THE HELL DOES MY BRAIN DO THIS WHY CAN'T SOMEONE SAY A NICE THING TO ME AND I JUST RESPOND LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING??!!?!
